This 3" laytex matress topper is awsome! It is very comfortable to sleep on. I have arthritis in my back & hips & usually toss & turn all night to relieve pressure but this topper has solved this problem. Great price & arrived very well packaged. I highly recommend this topper for anyone with back/hip pain.
Mine had a stain in the center which was really odd. I typically like firm beds and I didn’t want to sink into a topper. This one was decently firm but I think 1.5-2 inch would be better.
I have had this topper for a few weeks now and I must say it's like sleeping on a cloud! Total perfection for sleeping on my side or my back. I don't want to get out of bed in the mornings! I sleep more soundly and just love it! I bought one for my bed and the guest room and have slept on both. Truky worth the money!
It feels nice and the cover is nice, but there are a few small holes in the latex that are not part of the standard hole patterns. I’m not sure how it will hold up since one hole is in the middle where the mattress pad will get the most wear/tear. I washed the cover immediately before using it and it says it’s preshrunk but it shrank a lot. Yes, I followed the washing instructions. I had to stretch the material with my hands so the mattress pad would lie flat inside the cover.
TLDR: I truly cannot recommend this enough — and have been recommending it to anyone who will listen.I have interacted with four different latex topper companies in the last two months and have tried three of them, and can say without hesitation that Sleep on Latex is the best in terms of their customer service and the quality of their latex toppers. This summer was Mattress Mayhem for us, starting with a sadly uncomfortable, brand-new, very expensive mattress. I started out trying to fix the problem with a 2” soft Sleep on Latex topper. I’ve had a latex pillow before, but to have it under your whole body is different, like sleeping on cake. It’s cushioning yet supportive, it rebounds quickly so there’s no sinking feeling like memory foam, it doesn’t retain heat, it’s soft enough to relieve pressure, but buoyant enough to actively support concave curves in your body.We realized after a couple of weeks that 2” wasn’t quite enough, as we could still feel the firmness of the new mattress beneath it. We are both lightweight side sleepers (5’7 115lbs & 5’9 140lbs) so it’s easy for mattresses to feel too firm for us — in hindsight I should’ve gotten a 3”, but it’s fine, it kicked off our latex journey :)Weeks of research lead me to believe that Talalay processed latex might be the next best thing to get to stack on top of the Sleep on Latex topper. Sleep on Latex doesn’t make Talalay toppers, just Dunlop, so I had to get one from another company.Note on Talalay vs Dunlop: The best comparison I’ve found is Talalay = angel food cake & Dunlop = pound cake. As the owner of both, the difference isn’t big enough to fret over, IMHO. Talalay is more expensive due to the slightly more complex process, and is a little bouncier/more responsive as a pressure relief layer as a result of having more air bubbles in it, while Dunlop is exceedingly supportive because of its density. Both outclass all other topper materials when it comes to durability, longevity, support, pressure relief, eco-friendliness, value, and utter lack of heat retention, among other things.Anyway, the combination of the 3” Talalay + 2” Dunlop made our bed feel like a big marshmallow. It was amazing. However, I was waking up really sore in my hips from them partially dislocating in my sleep (I have the connective tissue disorder EDS), and ultimately found that the soft & fancy mattress at the bottom was failing to provide sufficient support.I went looking for a less-expensive, still-nice mattress with reputable pocketed coils to use as our base/support layer. The best one we found that met our requirements was literally one fifth of the price of the other mattress (which has since been returned), and the firmness of it unexpectedly & perfectly compliments the latex’s softness, providing the support that a very soft mattress could not, but it still felt ever so slightly too firm.I reached out to Sleep on Latex again with about 100 questions. Among many very helpful insights, they suggested folding our 2” in half under the Talalay to see if that felt better. It absolutely did, so I ordered another 2” soft (practically giddy to feed my newfound addiction to latex bedding, lol).We are (finally) sleeping more comfortably than we have in literal years on top of a whopping 7” of latex on top of an inexpensive-yet-reputable firm 8” pocketed coil mattress.Note on layering: if you’re going all-in on latex like we did but still want the bounce & breathability of coils, make sure the mattress at the bottom is on the firm side (or if you can afford a no-return policy, just get straight pocketed coils for a full DIY mattress). **You can always make a firm bed softer, but you can never firm up a soft bed — plush mattresses are literally just the firm equivalent of that mattress with additional foam on top.** I’d personally much rather be able to control the type and feel of the comfort layer(s) than have it permanently stitched onto a bed that might not work for me. And because it’s modular, single layers can be replaced as needed rather than having to get rid of the whole thing, so it’s more eco-conscious and will last longer. When I figured this out, it felt like I’d cracked the code/cheated the system. Worth it.Finally, it’s worth mentioning that Sleep on Latex also sells the BEST cotton stretch topper covers on the market. It’s really worth getting one if you want your latex topper to last as long as possible. If you order directly from their website, they’re available in every increment from 1”-12”, so one could contain a whole DIY mattress inside a single cover. The top and bottom unzip so the top half can be machine washed, it’s surprisingly easy to put on, makes it way easier to move the latex around without risking a rip, the cotton twill bottom does not slip around (even with our adjustable bed base), and it doesn’t change the feel of the latex at ALL. Per the reps at SoL, it is not designed to protect the topper form liquid, so if you need something waterpro...
I would not order again, the topper was about 2-3 inches bigger than my full size mattress and it looks like this topper was patched . (See photo) however the odor was not horrible.
Super dense, heavy and bouncy. Really good quality and worth the price. I’m using it above a 2.5 inch thick tatami mat and under an 4 inch all cotton Japanese style shiki futon. It’s provides just the right amount of firmness for me, which is pretty firm, but not as firm as laying the futon right on the tatami.Pro tip: I will never go back to buying a mattress. Building your own with various toppers and futon type materials allows for so much more customization, and you can switch elements out when they start to sag or your needs change. Additionally, I can fluff and air out my futon top layer in the sun once a month. And you can’t do any of those things with a mattress.
I had high hopes for this 2" king size latex topper but it was too big for my bed! The size was supposed to be 80×76W×2" thick but it ended up being 81× 79W at one end....81×77.5W in the middle and then 81×76W at the other end so it hung off one side uncomfortably. I did try to adjust it so it hung off each side evenly but it is just unsightly under the bedding. It also wasn't consistently 2" thick all over, I would have been ok with that though. I have a very nice looking room and because the topper didn't fit right it looked a bit junky! The topper itself looked like it was made well, the latex smell dissapeared after about 24 hours. The cover that I purchased would have been too small also. It did seem nice and cushy but I returned it because I have no idea how to trim it to fit and its just too expensive to mess with imo. I did not actually sleep on it. I wish it fit my bed!!
Yes, the mattress is comfortable, but it began disintegrating in two years. It cannot now be touched by hand or vacuum without causing a nightmarish mess of latex chunks and particles. Were I to vacuum it now, 4 years on, the vacuum would immediately eat out a massive hole in the mattress, because the latex is mush. Last year I had to seal it inside a zipped cover because my bed was surrounded in a ring of latex particles weekly. A normal mattress cover is insufficient. Removing the sealed encasing for a wash is a nightmare, best done in a garage or outdoors, but since it’s so heavy, that’s impossible. This product has a very limited lifespan. Seal it inside a mite/dust proof cover and be prepared for a huge cleanup operation when the cover needs to be laundered.
Not sure how long this has been in the warehouse, and it’s likely an Amazon issue and not the vendor. It smelled musty, and the box was very dusty. Possibly in the heat too.I allowed for a day to sit and breath. It still smells, like it got wet and the cover is not well fitted.I won’t return if because it will be impossible to re box.I think Amazon May to blame on this 0ne.The foam is very soft for a firm foam. It bottomed 0ut as soon as I lay 0n it. All in all it’s not a good experience.
Update: Amazon ordered me a replacement because the first one had a little damage and the replacement has issues as well. It's off in dimensions all over the place and actually feels like a much rougher material that's missing a layer than the first one.. legit it's almost a quarter inch thinner than the other and is way more squishy, probably because it's missing some material.Didn't even have to take it out of the package to notice a few flaws!!A few small rips here and there but I don't know if that's typical for a latex mattress topper? Hopefully that's not a failure point once we use it on the mattress and apply pressure, causing it to tear more.. 🤷♂️But overall decent quality, I was expecting the firm to be slightly firmer than what it is
Firm and stable - I love it. I used 2 inches m latex as a mattress. My son bought me memory foam from IKEA for $450, I been using it just for a few months it was a waste, and I was so unhappy because it was too soft and dented when I sit on it. even its label firm. So I got rid of it. This topper I use as a mattress I threw away my memory foam. I appreciate it so much. It’s so good so good.
I ordered this mattress topper because it was recommended for cosleeping. The mattress we have is pleaded (idk why they make these anymore) and it was super uncomfortable. I also needed to come up with a solution to make the bed flat so that cosleeping with my baby would be safe. This topper did the job, and has done it well!! It’s super comfortable and easy on my joints- sleeping on my side most of the night can make for a lot of soreness. I weigh about 135 for reference! But this topper helps relieve most of that stress on my body. It’s firm enough to be safe for cosleeping, but not so firm that it’s stiff. It has a little bit of bounce to it, yet it makes for easeful baby transfers that don’t make the baby wake up (if you know you know).Yes it is a bit pricey, but well worth it! And it’s much cheaper than buying a whole new mattress. Definitely recommend this mattress topper.
I bought a queen size "All Natural Latex Non Blended Mattress Topper with Preferred Medium Firmness" From Amazon 10 years ago from My Organic Textiles. After several mattresses that failed me in 3-7 years, I decided to assemble my own. Why pay a mattress company too much money to sew together fancy layers? I started with a firm spring mattress (no topper in it) Added this 2" latex, and then a 2" high quality piece of memory foam and inserted it all into a zippered dust mite cover. The latex piece is very heavy, and so is the memory foam. Heavy is higher density foam so better. Yes it is a job, but it has been worth it. I am now a 61 year old 137 lb female and it is still very comfortable. I do periodically turn and flip the layers independently which is a pain but it is worth it (probably once a year). And I figure if my needs change, or something wears out I can change out or replace a layer. There is now somewhat of a dip in the foam toppers, but it is no bother and I do not feel like I am falling in a hole. Why am I writing a review this late? Because now I just found the old order in my Amazon account and I am considering latex for cushions in a travel trailer. So sleep is the most important thing for your health. Keep trying until you find something that works for you. So this solved my sleep problem for 7 years, then I got diagnosed with sleep apnea. Treating that with a CPAP was a game changer too. Hope you find what works for you!
Had it for almost 3 years and I don’t notice any sagging or deterioration. The firm is firm and bouncy. I would go for a bit softer next time. Great quality for the money.
I recently bought a high-end sofa with back cushions that are a little firmer than I like. I bought this twin mattress, cut it to the size of the back cushions and put them in front of the cushion inserts, then zipped the covers around them. It gave just enough sink-in comfort without sacrificing support. I had enough left over to make a double layer insert for my elderly dog's bed.By itself, I would say this would make a great mattress topper. I have a latex mattress myself-- latex is a healthier alternative to memory foam, lasts longer, and doesn't get hot.
This is the third latex mattress we purchased for our RV, Boat, and bed at home. It is extremely expensive at first glance, but it’s well worth the money. It’s not just a cheap topper. It’s actually a mattress and I would totally buy it again.
Fantastic topper. No pressure point pain at the hips anymore. Helped restore a sagging 3 year old mattress. Well made with a very nice premium cover. Heavy… you are getting what you pay for. Fit is perfect on my QS bed. Well packaged. Fragile folks will need some help, but I’m well past retirement age and managed fine. The maker will fix any issues you might have and address any concerns. Quit looking around. This is the company to do business with. Really.
Our new bed has a memory foam pillow top that is fine in the winter, but as the weather warms up in the spring it gets to be too hot for me. The bed was too expensive to replace so decided to try this latex foam topper to see if it would help. It has made a huge difference! I added a "cooling blanket" and have slept well since!
I have a $1000 hybrid mattress that I can’t say enough about, so I wasn’t even really in the market for a mattress topper. I don’t even remember what made me think to look at these online, but I think I got an education about pure, natural latex, rubber toppers, as opposed to the cheap foam ones like the old egg crates, or even the Tempur-pedic ones. I went for the 3 inch mattress topper and it took me two hours to wrestle it into a cover and on to the mattress. I was disappointed how it initially felt when I pressed on it with my hands, thinking that it felt exactly like my great mattress anyway. But, I’m a side sleeper, and I have arthritis in my hips, which causes me to medicate before bed and sometimes medicate by four or five in the morning. Let me tell you that I now rarely - if ever - have to take anything before bed anymore. This has been the best investment ever, and I am so delighted that I took a chance.
It is HEAVY especially rolled up in the box. We ended up rolling it up the steps on our hand truck just to make it easier to move it around. (We're both seniors.) Easy to unpack, just roll it out while pulling on the plastic. It pops up/fills out almost instantly. ZERO smell right out of the plastic and I am VERY sensitive to smells. I bought the version with the cover after reading other reviews. It is firm but comfortable and gives where you need it. I do find we're both tossing and turning less after only having it for a few days. Our previous bed cushion was a 4" memory foam which we purchased in 2016. Finally needed a replacement in December 2024. Wanted to go with something more natural this time around. So far we are very pleased with this purchase.
Had a latex mattress that I loved which lasted 20 years. I should've bought another but instead decided on a firm, hybrid mattress from a major retailer. It's great for back sleeping but I needed more cushion for side sleeping. We tried a viral 4" topper from the Tik Tok shop but every day i woke up sore and it felt like I needed to roll through quicksand to get out of the bed. It also made me too hot. FINALLY I found the perfect combination with this topper! It allows my shoulder and hip to sink in more comfortably/softly while still supporting the rest of my body and keeping my spine in alignment. It stays cool too!
I have tried all types of foam toppers for my queen bed. Memory foam, Gel infused foams, and even charcoal infused. They all do a decent job of relieving trigger points of aches and pains. But NONE keep you cool, no matter the claim. Any type of memory foam retains heat and makes me uncomfortable. They also only seem to last 2-3 years before I go in search of a replacement.I tried a latex topper for the first time. MUCH better experience. I got the soft version and it is soft, but firmer than any memory foam topper I have tried. It supports you without that sinking cradling feeling I had from memory foam topper. And I never felt warm during the night. Reading more about natural latex it seems I could get 5+ years out of this topper too. That’s a bonus.
